Insomnia, in Ash's Mole
I suffer from Insomnia and struggle to communicate to non-insomniacs what a dreadful experience regular insomnia is. Watercolor and gouache plus pen and ink.
it really capture that feeling so well. I also have insomnia, not too often, but every once in a while I'll get 2-3 nights in a row. It really really sucks.
I like what you did with this Mary. Yes, I'm a "night owl" myself who, unfortunately has to get up at the crack of dawn on weekdays. I guess I'd fall somewhat in that category myself. Lack of sleep sucks.
Thanks, Steve. I wish I could go back and make the painting look more like the digital version. I did darken it a little. But I don't feel as if I have the skill to pill that off.
I've been considering trying but leaning toward leaving well enough alone for fear of ruining what I've got.

Thanks, Aya! :-D I've tried a variety of ways to communicate it. It's sort of hard to express. Thanks. :-D
Insomnia is the absolute pits. Yes, trying to express it artistically would be difficult... especially if one is impaired from lack of sleep, HA!
I'm almost always impaired by lack of sleep, unfortunately! I like your new icon shot! :-D Wooweee--you look all dressed up!
