EDIT - Round Two Head Count and Introductions!

Look who will be joining us for round 2:

Heidi aka Henniemavis: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27929144@N02/sets/72157608060767049/

Ballookey: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ballookey/2283488203/

Ellen of Pink Ink and Jello: http://pinkinkandjello.blogspot.com/

From round 1 I have:
Mike, Willie, Steve, Mary, Myself, and possibly Ian. Milo is also in the decision making process. Is that correct? Have I left anyone out?

I have a few more invites out to folks on flickr and blogger, so I'll keep you updated. If you know of anyone who wants in, have them email me a link and their contact info.

We are using the A4 Moleskine sketchbook, but if you want to get a watercolor A4 that is groovy.

When we have 12 people confirmed I am going to have everyone, count their own pages and notate in their own books how many pages they would like done, maximum of 5.

I'd like the last page done by each artist to be a collaboration with the next artist in the exchange.

I think that's it for now. More soon. Cheers!

I'm so excited! I even have a stunt notebook in my back pocket gathering ideas so I'm not stuck in the cold.

By the way, it's just Ballookey. No Heidi, though that would have been preferable. ;)

Sorry, I meant to ask:

Any suggestions or cautions with regard to media in the Moleskine's? Anyone tried something that was really disastrous? I'm generally planning on ink and colored pencils, but I thought it would be good to ask those who've been through round 1 what advice they might have.

Sorry Ballookey, am I getting two people confused here? Heidi, Henniemavis, Ballookey ... those are all the same person, right?

No, I'm sorry. I don't know who Heidi or Henniemavis is - really. I hope you didn't let me in by accident. ;) I'm just Ballookey. I don't go by any other pseudonyms.

Am I to be the only non-US participant, possibly?!!

Hi Ballookey! I found these pencils a delight to use. Moleskines don't like anything too wet so go easy on the wet stuff. I found waterproof ink pen (micron pens) better than indian ink, and use watercolours with a very dry brush - like I wouldn't use a mop!

Welcome Hennie, Ballookey and Ellen!!! So glad to have you on board.

YAY! It'll be fun.

I'm watching the mail for my two new moles--Guess I'll be using the A4 watercolor and not the folio. Eager to start.

And welcome back to all who stayed on.

And I will miss those who leave!!!

Ian,

So far you are ... do you have any overseas cohorts you would like to invite? I asked one gent from Italy, but haven't heard back yet.

I have two tentative yes answers from Thraxil and Ash Edwards on Flickr ... check 'em out!

Thanks for the tips, Ian! That's about what I work with usually, so good enough.

I'm going to ask a somewhat complicated question about the pages and collaborations.

Are the collaborations to be on the same page? If for example someone's last page is a Left Hand page, then would I (1) add to their drawing on the LH page or would I (2) contain myself to the RH page?

If it's the first, then no problem. Just add right onto what exists, and then draw on five more pages, right? So each artist has four exclusive pages and two collaborative pages—one with the artist that came before and one to be completed by the artist that comes after.

If it's the second option above, then every other person's work will end on a RH page, so the collaborator will be working on the back side of that page, correct?

I promise, I'm not too dumb to do this, I was just trying to imagine how it would work out! ;)

These are very good questions and I don't know the answers either. Last round, some people ended on a left hand page and I reacted to their work--and others did the same--on the right hand page. I thought that was a lot of fun.

In my group, some people put some work in frames and other people decorated around the frames.

Hi Ballookey, I spent some time with my book this weekend and was struggling about how the collaboration pages would work out too. I am not sure, because you are right not everyone will end on a LH page. I will post this question to the group soon, or you can make a post about it and ask for suggestions.
