Art Delay Ends After Vacation Jetlag

Being self-employed, my vacations go like this: ugly, weeklong work crunch before I depart... week of vacay, NO work! ...ugly, weeklong work crunch when I return. Sigh. Anyhoo, I did have a grand time in Oregon. I thought of Aya, as I painted on the plane. And I thought of Willie, because I bought sign-art from a homeless man. And my turquoise gemstones (above) accidentally came out like Anders drew them, HA! So you see, even when I'm artistically backed up, you guys are always on my mind :-)

I do like those turquoise stones...

I like the views from the airplane and the stones are definitely Anders style a la Hennie--very cool.

Thanks, you two!

@thraxil: Sorry to rip you off by accident, HA! I have been experimenting w/abstracted images. This & the salamander "abstract comic" are the only ones I posted. Seems I have to get an idea somewhere first -- here, my watchband, made of tiny turquoise squares.

I still think I negate the "abstract" nature of it if I have something in mind as I draw. But whatever, since I liked the result!

Art on a plane is such a conversation piece. People always stop by to chat. Love it! Observational stuff is cool.

@Mike: That's right, you are a fellow air-travel artist, too! And I remember some of Steve's flight work also (a favorite porcupine of mine). I was in (over) your region when I had connections in Salt Lake. The mountain views, wow!

@Mary: Stone faces? I can mimic them if I play poker!

Love those gemstones!

Aren't all vacations like that? If only the week before and the week after were less painful, it would be easier to go more often!
