Jim Doran's Mole group

Jim Doran --remember him?--we had a go around about whether he could join us--has started a new mole group and invited me to join. So this is the first page of my new Group 2 mole with my little autobiography blurb. I won't post any more of these, but I just thought you might like to know how it was resolved. Heidi and some of the other people who posted to our blog about wanting to join joined Jim's group. This was done with a fine point sharpie and water color pencils. It didn't scan as well as I would have liked.

Good ol' Jim, I'm pleased he got it sorted - there is a lot of enthusiasm for exchanges, I had to stop myself from joining another the other day because I'm over the limit already. Nice one, Mary! Now you have to choose which one to put your daily inspiration into! he he.

Oh, good on him, I'm glad he got one going himself. Sweet!

And I do like your intro drawing... that baby is cracking me up. Look at her grin!

So can you explain your choice to draw St. Francis as female? (I mean, I would kind of prefer the patron saint of animals to be female anyway :) Are there people who believe that St. Francis was female?

Yeah, I hope I have enough energy to do good stuff in both! I'm thinking of alternating. Sometimes, I won't have both here at once. But right now I do! I started something else in yours, Ian, but haven';t finished it because I got interrupted by LATE NIGHT exhaustion. I like my idea, hope its execution is good.

I drew St. Francis as a female (Frances) for selfish reasons that have nothing to do with reality. I've always loved St. Francis and wanted to be like that. So--this is really ME as St. Francis(ces). LOL! Or any of the rest of us who might like to possess that kind of love.

Brilliant! Glad to hear Jim started a Moly exchange!

I just joined a portrait exchange ... I am a bit intimidated, but feel like I ccould learn a lot from it. Thanks Ammon!

Hello again. Andrea, thanks for you kind words previously, and yes, I would love to be considered for any future exchange you guys have. As Mary said, I have eagerly joined Jim's which has started straight away! I'm already learning a lot, mostly about Flickr, since I'm a computer dope. The discipline of a committment to a creative group is also great for me. Not to mention the fun factor of the whole sharing thing. Please do keep me on your list, as by the time this bunch completes their year together, I may be ready to add another exchange to my life :-) Thanks for the inspiration which comes from watching this entire group!

And Yay Jim.

A portrait groups sound wonderful, but I don't think I could handle any more groups at the moment!!!! (Not that I was invited anyway).

But I can see what a learning experience that would be.

One of the things I want to be able to do is to illustrate children's books--and portrait work might help with that. But I'm full up! phew!

well I quite fancy a comic book molie exchange - I'm sure if I searched there'd be plenty around. The idea would be for each participant to illustrate say 7 pages, up to 3 cells per page, continuing a story to which they don't know the plot - the plot is never discussed by the group. The plot would be random and organic but must be logical in hindsight. Characters can be re-interpreted in the style of each artist rather than copied to make it easier and more fun.

WOW! What a great idea, like a continuing story! I'd love to be able to do that. (not now). But what a riot. How fun.

Taking off after lunch from Detroit for Syracuse NY---L8r! Caio!
