steve's work in ash's book

Finally, I finished working in Ash's book! Spring is a busy busy time at work/school, so it was good to find some time here and there to add to these drawings (sometimes working in the book while my students were working on their art, which doesn't always work out!). I based my animal drawings on some photos I took where I live in Leesburg, Virginia. I used watered down acrylics and Pigma Micron pens for those four. The bottom one was a fun little collab done with Ellen. Anyhow, this sucker goes in the mail tomorrow to you Mary. So sorry for the delay!

I love that turtle! All the little nubbins on his legs! And the background wash is gorgeous.

YAY! A Moley is on the way--Woohoo! I can't wait. I love these pieces and they go well with the ones in the last watercolor book! Great washes, colors, detail--I love the little nubbly things on the turtle's leg too.

I just love the detail in these--they are all wonderful. The turtle is amazing. (I was just studying them again.)

These are gorgeous Steve! I need to play around more with laying down backgrounds, the colors you get are stunning.

Why, that's the prettiest buzzard I've ever seen... & since buzzards aren't generally known for their good looks, that's saying a lot, HA!

Always love your animals. I'm with Balook, the turtle is my fav this time. His teal bkg. really sets him off perfectly!

The turtle is sweet! Love the blue. I am going to water down some paints as well - just maybe not in a Moleskin... :)
