#2 in Ash's, for Collaboration with Mike: A Bird in the Hand

A Bird in the Hand, first half of a collaboration with Mike Kline in Ash's Mole. BB and I took a hike at Dodge park and at the far end, farther than we'd ever been before, we found this dead robin in some branches that looked like a skeletal hand so that's what I made it into. This is in the front of the Mole, as there aren't enough pages for everyone otherwise.

I did it in ballpoint pen and gouache. Click image to view larger.

So sad but so well drawn Mary. Nature's grim reality rendered so beautifully.

Man! This one doesn't need to be touched! Awesome - absolutely awesome. Sad for the bird, but awesome drawing.

OH, Mike, but you HAVE to touch it--I left all that space for your adventures with it. I hope you will--I tried to pick a subject and style I thought you'd like. And with ballpoint pen, I hoped that would fit in with what you do.

Thanks, both of you, for your very kind comments.

Mary, this is so well done! I cannot get over how well you draw, for someone who sometimes says "I'm not really an artist."

You are an artist, my dear. You ARE!

Eep, thank you.

You might not say that if you saw the horrible mess I made of the next page--now I am trying to figure out how to rescue it!!!

:-(

WAHN!
