Skulls for Andrea

This skull picture is based on a similar one I did a while back. The last one was done in pastels, but this one, since it's in the moleskine, I did in pigment pens, watercolor and gouache. I did it especially for Andrea. Click image to view larger. I included a large print of the earlier version, which I copied from. They are similar but not the same.

Now did you have to give me nightmares Mary? Really though, I like the colors you used on the skulls too give 'em some extra (much needed, haha) life. Nicely done!

Thanks, Steve!

I put a lot of color on them with pigment markers and then painted over them with watercolors to tone them down some.

Awesome images of the reality of death. I can't wait to see them up close. Not my demise, but the skulls.

Woowee.

I am thinking of asking for a human skull for my birthday--for art purposes.

Um, I think that's illegal. HA! "Hey K, can you get me a real skull? Here's a shovel. See ya later..."

(I know you meant you'd want a replica for your birthday... right? HA!)

Yeah, you can order replicas online.

It'd be fun to make one of clay.

A real oe would go well with all my other real skulls, though.
