Seeing the four like this is cool; it shows such breadth. I love them all, how the anteater seems to come out of the cat, and the different styles of portrait. My favorite is the collage in the bottom left. My collab piece with Gretchen is collage.
Roma-- the anteater bled through the page pretty badly, and I was at work with an unfinished page on mailing-day! The Chinese takeout menu was an act of desperation, but it makes me laugh. I bought rubber cement on the walk to the post office and tried to paste the page in place without getting caught by the tough staffers (I'm sure it's a violation of some federal law to use rubber cement at the post office)!
I love the take-out menu as a background and pasting work into the book like that is a great way to solve the bleed-through problem. I once did a piece on some sheet music - I'll have to remember to try that again for the exchange.
That's so funny about the rubber cement. Mod Podge works well, for future reference. Yeah, the collage on mine came about for the same reason--bleeding through from the other side. I guess with the watercolor pages, that's not a problem, but with the sketch Moleys it is. I'm glad it happened, tho. Good to experiment.
The watercolor ones still bleed through, but not as bad, and obviously, not if you use watercolors. I found this out the hard way when I did a test marker drawing on lightweight watercolor paper I had lying around - it worked great. So I did it in Aya's book, and yikes! Bleed through. It was only bits here & there, but still maddening.
