i love the style of this one Ian,

and I am now listening to my old scruffy tape copy of somethin' else, thanks to you, a re-discovered joy. i always did like Autumn Leaves with Art Blakey's beautiful brushes.

Too strange, 'cause I had Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers "Indestructible" playing for my students today - this whole week in fact (love that album). I agree with John, love this style Ian - a real nice way to top of an excellent excellent set. Thanks so much Ian, can't wait to get this and see it in person.

thanks. I went with the flow with this: had the idea last week but not the execution of it - I think it could have gone several ways in my head, like in colour, but time was against me (again), but I'm quite pleased with it.

I have been mad for these jazz albums recently - I now have 8 re-released blue notes, plus the birth of cool! have you got/heard Lee Morgan, The Sidewinder? I'm sure you have. Excellent! and Art Blakey's Moanin' (I think I mentioned before). Art B is THE drummer, isn't he? also Miles Davis on Somethin' Else is something else too.
Hopefully, I might get some more in my stocking next month...
