Thanks so much Aya. I took a biological illustration course at Idaho State University back in the dark ages (early seventies), from Edson Fichter who is long gone now. Biology and nature and skulls are passions of mine. These were done freehand and not as precisely as I would have done them if I were doing a real biological illustration, but just for fun. They were done "from life" (or maybe I should say, "from death," that is, from a real skull and not from another drawing or photo. (I have a fairly extensive skull collection.) I am going to print a picture (photograph) of the skull I used and include it in the pocket.

I love the muskrat skulls too. You know how I like art with a nature journaling bent :-)

Was it Ammon who requested a free muskrat as a suggested improvement to the Moleskine Exchange experience? Too bad he bowed out of Round 2... we could have all drawn something muskrat in his book as it came 'round, ha ha!

Muskrats are so cute! I've had the honor of seeing some close up recently, including babies! YAY!

I wish I could draw one of those baby muskrats on my shoulder (or HIS shoulder) in his style as a gift for him, BUT I am simply not that talented.

I could go off on a whole riff of IDEAS on the subject.

Thanks, Hennie.

I agree with Aya and Hennie, very nice work on those skulls. Will you do some skulls in my book when you get it?

I am also very fond of the different blue squares behind the daisy.

Great start Mary!

Thanks!

I would be happy to do skulls for you, Andrea (as long as galloping Alzheimers doesn't get me first!)
