and EVERYTHING in BETWEEN

and Everything in Between

Well, didn't finish Mike's Mole this weekend, but I did finish this one drawing. The facing page, as you might recall, has the words "Life and Death." So this one has "and Everything in Between." Wax crayon for the backgound color, then I fix with a matte spray, then pen and ink for the lines.

OK, onward.

WOW! That's really neat and touching!

If you fix crayons, you can draw over them? I didn't know that, will have to try it.

Interesting and thought provoking!

Hi Mary. Yes, the fixative is great for doing additional layers of work, also for keeping the work you do from rubbing off and onto the facing page. By the way, the crayons were oil-based Caran d-Arche. Have you ever used them? Harder to find than the watercolor based one.

Very cool - I love your rendering of the hand and bird. The remind me of the art on old Mexican lottery cards.

I agree, there is something very evocative about the rendering here.

This IS intriguing. Shoot, now I too will have to toy with crayons, hands & life & death. Adding it to my list, HA!
