rehydration

I had a weird experience that I have NEVER had before painting the rabbit. The black on the butterfly on the other side of the same page rehydrated and got all wet--and I wasn't even painting that part of the page. It smeared slightly in spite of my care--I was very upset. Only the black rehydrated and I have now repainted it with gouache (it was watercolor black).

Last year, I took my sketchbook for a motorcycle trip, the rain caught us by surprise and I got soaked soaked wet, sadly so did the sketchbook.

One of the pages, especially got damage "painting" half of a page purple and black. It was so depressing, somehow as time went by I grew to really love it and now that's my favorite drawing in that specific book.

Sometimes the accidents work in our behalf, even though we might not see it at first. Is there any photos of the "rehydration"?

No, I didn't photogrph it--it doesn' look much different because once I noticed it, I was VERY careful with it--it only got faintly smeared in the antennae and proboscis etc. And the colored lightened,s o repaitned it with gouache. Because the butterfly was black.
