We got Snow in our Boots (Round 3)
"We got snow in our boots."
Water color and water color blocker (masking fluid). No gouache. (click image to view larger.)
This is the piece whose sketch I ruined and had to do over. I did it without references--I do better with references, but my computer was unavailable.
(At least I am feeling a little better today.)

This is a nice series. :) Have you ever tried using salt on a watercolor wash to make snowflakes? Your winter scenes are inspiring me to make one again. That was a trick I remembered from school.
I've never tried that for snow! I did in summer sand scenes for sand, got a nice sandy texture. WIll have to try it, but on test piece first, LOL!
THANKS!!! :-D YAY!
I really like their hats Mary. Lovely details.
Fun series. I really like. Very nice! The snow makes me light a fire in the fireplace.
Thanks so much Andrea and Mike! My grandson is two months old now! I'm writing him a book. 3 books. Need to get going. Takes a which to create a book!
